REFLECT
- Why did they stay a long time even though there was increasing resistance? At what point did Paul and Barnabas leave? How can God’s servant know when to stay and keep preaching (verse 3) and when to flee to share in the next place (verse 6)?
- How does the healing of the lame man demonstrate God's power, and why is this sign important in a new mission field? Why do you think the people reacted with worship rather than just curiosity? What are some modern-day "gods" people might lift up, and how can leaders avoid becoming idols?
RESPOND
- How can we, in our own lives, effectively redirect undeserved praise or admiration toward God?
- Why is the gospel sometimes received with excitement and sometimes with intense rage? How important is it to be solid in our beliefs?
